On March 3, 1922, the Prince of Wales, Prince Edward VIII, established MCJ at Sarai Alamgir and renamed it the King George Royal Indian Military School in honor of his father, King George V. (KGRIMS).
In recognition of the contributions of Muslim troops during World War I, a private school for the children of Muslim troopers was established on September 15, 1925.
With the goal of creating an educated population to serve in British Indian Army units.

MCJ 8th class written examinations will hold in major cities of Pakistan, including Sarai Alamgir, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, Sargodha, Karachi, Hyderabad Pano Aqil, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Quetta Balochistan, Gilgit GB, and AJK Muzzafarabad.
